Little Things

I was a rattle in the whistlin’ wind,
you could blow me about like a child, girl.
I never wanted to be the one who was letting go.
Living on the fence, I’m always happy to say
that “I’m alright now, I’m makin’ out fine”, girl
I never was and I’m willin’ to bet you know

Time won’t wait for this careless guy I’m told
and the world won’t change like before.
The sun will fade.
But I wish I was so sure there’s no room in my life
for all the little things I’ve never wanted more.

Back up in the forest by the flickering fire
with the kids, back in the middle of June.
I supposed that you were lookin to change my mind.
Me, I want to find a little corner of town
where there’s nothing there but “nothin’ to do.”
I never want to have to ever be bothered tryin’.

Time won’t wait for this careless guy I’m told
and the world won’t change like before.
The sun will fade.
But I wish I was so sure there’s no room in my life
for all the little things I’ve never wanted more

I remember hearing all the stories you sold
and I’m thinking you were thinking of me.
You never figered I was lookin to change my mind
Yeah, you never figered and I’ve never told
and nothing’s ever done about it …
